The Institute of Global Health at Heidelberg University, Germany’s oldest university and a leading hub for health-related research in Europe, is looking for an outstanding postdoctoral research fellow in health economics. Through research and teaching, the Section for Oral Health aims to contribute to optimizing oral health as an integral part of overall wellbeing. The group carries out research locally (Germany), regionally (EU) and globally (particularly in low-resource settings). The postdoctoral fellow will contribute strong health economics expertise and be involved in collaborative research projects with academic partners and public health organisations locally, regionally and globally. Our areas of interest include:
- Economic evaluation of community-based interventions
- Experiments and quasi-experiments in health financing
- Participatory methods to optimize health systems

Your Tasks
- Lead health economics research and contribute to project management.
- Publish in high-impact peer-review journals.
- Contribute to the development of new research projects.
- Contribute to the acquisition of third-party funding.
- Contribute to teaching activities and supervision of doctoral students
We are open to discussing options for part-time work or working remotely.
Your Profile
- You have a doctoral degree in health economics or a related field
- You have strong quantitative expertise and strong coding skills in R, Stata, Python, or other statistical software packages. Training and experience in quasi-experimental methods is a plus
- You have a good track-record in scientific research as evidenced by publications in international academic journals
- Good communication skills in English; good communication skills in German are a plus
- You have good social, communication and organsiational skills and are a team player
