Project Manager - Rare Disease Research Project (m/f/d)

wanted for the next possible date at the Centre for Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine for the rare disease research.

The Department of Pediatric Nephrology at Heidelberg University Hospital is looking for an ambitious Project Manager to join the European Rare Diseases Research Alliance (ERDERA).
This position is of great importance for the coordination of international and interdisciplinary research efforts to improve medical care for patients with rare diseases.

Tasks involved as project manager:

  • 1. Facilitate the integration of existing rare disease registry data into well-structured cohorts suitable for clinical trials, ensuring transparency and accessibility.
  • 2. Assist in coordinating the creation of robust natural history cohort data for specific diseases, adhering to high regulatory standards.
  • 3. Collaborate on the creation of a model-based clinical trial simulation (CTS) platform for rare diseases, focusing on disease progression modeling and regulatory-grade drug development tools.
  • 4. Facilitate the development of a platform for creating regulatory-grade patient-relevant Clinical Outcome Assessments (COAs) in rare disease studies.
  • 5. Support efforts to identify and rank diseases suitable for advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs) based on their compatibility with cutting-edge treatment platforms.

Your Tasks

  • Schedule and organize live and virtual meetings
  • Document and distribute meeting minutes, track follow-ups, and provide progress reports and overviews
  • Act as the primary liaison for project stakeholders, including task leaders and external collaborators
  • Develop, distribute, and analyze surveys for feedback or data collection purposes
  • Contribute to publications, project proposals, and reports

Your Profil

  • Education: Master’s degree (PhD is a plus) in a relevant field, such as Biology, Bioinformatics, Healthcare Research or equivalent
  • Experience in project management, ideally within research or healthcare settings, is preferred. Familiarity with regulatory standards in health research, ontologies, or data management is an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint 
  • Knowledge of survey tools (e.g., SurveyMonkey) and basic data analysis
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. German is a Plus
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse team
