wanted for the next possible date at the Institute of Experimental Cardiology for investigating cardiac regeneration and repair.
The Mechanisms of Cardiac Regeneration and Repair lab is inviting applications for a technical assistant position. We are embedded within the Institute of Experimental Cardiology at Heidelberg University Hospital. Our lab is interested in deciphering molecular and cellular mechanisms of cardiac regeneration and repair using zebrafish and mouse as model systems. Our ultimate goal is to use this knowledge to develop and improve therapeutic strategies to treat heart disease. We are searching for a motivated candidate to be part of our international and vibrant team. The position is initially limited to one year, with the possibility of extension, and remuneration is according to the TV-UK system.

Your Tasks
- Molecular biological and biochemical techniques (including PCR, cloning, RNA preparation, protein extraction, Western blotting, IP)
- Immunohistochemical techniques (including tissue sectioning, immunostaining, imaging)
- Primary cell/tissue culture
- Assisting in the maintenance and generation of mutant/transgenic zebrafish and mouse lines
- Organizational and administrative responsibilities
Your Profile
- Completed training as a biological technical assistant
- Experience in standard molecular biological/immunohistochemical techniques and previous work with animal models will be viewed favorably
- Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to work well in a team
- Knowledge of MS Office
- Organizational skills
