as soon as possible (no later than February 2024) searched for the Institute for Computational Biomedicine in Heidelberg.

The position will coordinate various national and international projects where we study multi-omics data sets to better understand and treat human disease using computational and experimental methods. You will join an international and interdisciplinary group of scientists (for more information visit our website). This position is ideally expected to also contribute to grant and manuscript (e.g. review articles) writing and help with experimental design strategies in the area of spatial biology.

Tasks and responsibilities

Your work would consist in managing those projects in terms of scientific project reports, participate and organize regular project meetings, as well as the communication with external (mostly scientific project partners in academia and industry but also funders) and internal contacts (grants office, legal and financial departments of the hospital). Managing and reviewing contracts for scientific collaborations, planning and budget control concerning experimental and staff expenses, are part of the tasks as well.

Prerequisites

Candidates with an academic degree and experience in a related field as well as with an education and/ or experience in management, administration or similar are encouraged to apply. Some prior experience in scientific project management is highly recommended. Ability to manage budgeting and office tools is essential.

A very good command of English and German, in speaking and writing, and intercultural competence will be required for the position, and you should enjoy working in a international team of scientists.
