Research Assistant - cancer proteomics (m/w/d)
wanted for the next possible date at the Centre for Infectious Diseases for clinical cancer proteomics.
The position is temporary for the duration of a parental leave replacement of 12 months and offers you the opportunity to gain valuable professional experience in the field of clinical cancer proteomics.
We are looking for a technician in mass spectrometry-based proteomics, to join our team in clinical cancer proteomics to cover a maternity leave. The candidate will be based in the group of Prof. Jeroen Krijgsveld, and will be embedded in SMART-CARE, a Heidelberg-based research consortium (University & University Hospital, DKFZ, EMBL, HS Mannheim) using mass spectrometry to understand tumor relapse in various cancer entities to ultimately benefit patient care (https://smart-care.mscoresys.de). In this context, the candidate is expected to support our activities in the processing of clinical samples for proteome analysis.

Your tasks
- Assist in research projects in the area of clinical proteomics
- Conduct experiments for proteomic sample preparation
- Assist in mass spectrometry experiments
- Assist in the analysis of proteomic data
- Maintain contacts with collaborators in the consortium
Your profile
- Completed training as a technical research assistant (BTA, CTA, MTA) or Bachelor's degree in an engineering or bioanalytical programme
- Experience in biochemical research techniques
- Knowledge of proteomic research methods
- Computer literacy
- Excellent communication skills in English and German
