Research Fellow - Health Services Research (m/f/d)

The Institute of Global Health at Heidelberg University, Germany’s oldest university and a leading hub for health-related research in Europe, is looking for an outstanding research fellow in health services research. The position provides the possibility to enrol as PhD candidate according to the applicable rules for doctoral students at Heidelberg University. The researcher will work under the guidance of Prof. Stefan Listl and other researchers at the Section for Oral Health. Through research and teaching, the Section for Oral Health aims to contribute to optimizing oral health as an integral part of overall wellbeing. The group carries out research globally (particularly in low-resource settings), regionally (EU), and locally (Germany). The research fellow will contribute strong research expertise and be involved in collaborative research projects with academic partners and public health organisations such as the World Health Organization. Our areas of interest include:

  • Community-based trials on interventions to improve oral health
  • Design and implementation of digital health interventions
  • Participatory research in low-resource settings
  • Knowledge transfer to improve policymaking
  • Mixed methods: qualitative and quantitative research

We are open to discussing options to enrol as PhD candidate and for part-time work.

Your Profile

  • You have a very good masters degree in health services research, public health, epidemiology or a related field
  • You have strong qualitative and/or quantitative research skills
  • You have good expertise in using statistical software (R, Stata or other statistical software)
  • Good communication skills in English; good communication skills in German are a plus
  • You have good social, communication and organsiational skills and are a team player
